Before it was a guest favorite, this little home belonged to Arlin Hays, the beloved editor and longtime owner of the San Augustine Tribune. The Hays family has proudly published the weekly paper since the early 1900s, and Arlin’s son still carries on the tradition today. We’re pretty sure you’ll find a fresh copy of the local paper waiting inside the house—because nothing says “welcome to town” like catching up on high school sports, local church events, and who’s opening a new bait shop.
